SuperYacht Flyboard Training

SuperYacht FlyBoard Training and Installation

Aquatic Jetpacks  provide a complete installation and training package for SuperYachts, Captains or owners looking to operate a Flyboard, Hoverboard or Jetpack by Zapata Racing onboard .

With the increase of water jet related equipment aboard Super Yachts there has been growing concerns within the Industry about the overall safety of them.

The below course is strongly focused on health and safety and should give Superyacht crew the knowledge they need to safely operate and maintain the kit. We can also provide further consultation on the development of the operations manual surrounding this activity should it be required.

As there is currently no governing body over the activity of Flyboarding or jetpack related activities, the course below has been designed as the ‘best code of practice’ when using the kit.  Captains and Yacht Management companies can therefore show that they have applied a duty of care by undertaking some kind of training in relation to the equipment instead of simply purchasing it and putting it straight into action.

In terms of the Training we aim to deliver a course to a minimum of 2, maximum 3 of the crew and ideally they are already qualified PWC users as this can be run more as a conversion of their existing skills and knowledge on the water.

In terms of the Installation of the board in previous SuperYacht Courses it has been helpful to have an engineer or someone who deals with the maintenance of the PWCs to attend the morning session as the Flyboard requires someone to remove the part of the PWC Pump which requires a bit of technical knowledge.

The course modules are shown below :

Module 1 (Ashore) –  Correct assembly, maintenance, connection to PWC, run through different methods of reaching operating area if in a tidal situation

Module 2 (Ashore) – Safe Operating Areas (both Tidal and non/tidal), safety management within operating area and adhering to operations manual

Module 3 (Ashore) – Kit familiarization and safety check before each session including both Flyboard and Personal equipment

Module 4 (Ashore & afloat) –  Teaching the basic techniques of Flyboarding to course members, hopefully establishing a competent level of riding within session.

Module 5 (Ashore & afloat) – Teaching the Basic Techniques of safely operating the Flyboard as the Instructor from the PWC

The above course can be covered in 1 day (1.5 days should the crew struggle to develop their own personal Flyboard skills within the allotted time) with 2 – 3 Crew.

As well as providing the training we also offer a consultancy service to produce a Superyacht Flyboard Operations Manual. This manual will cover the Operational Procedures to safely use Flyboard Equipment onboard and a range of other important information including risks assessments, safety procedures and minimum operator qualifications. The Superyacht Flyboard Operations manual is approximately 30 Pages with additional Forms and is supplied as a Hard A4 File. The preparation of the manual can be done remotely by completing a provided questionnaire.

We can Combine Flyboard Installation with RYA PWC Instructor Training and RYA Centre Setup and Inspections through our sister company Jetski Safaris Ltd For a quote please email us or call the office + 44 (0) 1202 706 784

Testimonials

Dear Ross,

I wanted to thank you for your time aboard M/Y Talisman C as our Flyboard instructor and hope that you will use this email as a testimonial for any other yachts, companies or individuals that are thinking of taking instruction on the use of Flyboards.

Ross Ceaton of Aquatic Jetpacks attended Motor Yacht Talisman C, A 70metre Private yacht in June 2016 in order to train  in the initial set up, maintenance, safe operation and instruction of the equipment.

I found Ross to be not only highly knowledgeable but a very effective trainer as well.

The training given by Ross was a very complete and end to end package with a very detailed technical set up session followed by a theory and safety session before moving on to the practical side of how to use the equipment and how to train others to do so.

Ross also offers a tailor made and yacht/centre specific operations manual as an addition which Is highly detailed and very worthwhile.

I highly and sincerely recommend Ross and Aquatic Jetpacks for all equipment and training needs and look forward to having him aboard Talisman C again in the future.

With Many thanks,

Chief Officer Motor Yacht Talisman C | Burgess Yachts
